About Adriana

Proven Advocate for basic Rights

Adriana grew up in the Calexico, where she graduated from Calexico High before attending San Diego State University. Her career in retail management and finance has equipped her with the necessary skills to understand Calexico’s economy. She worked for 15 years in retail management, and in the banking industry for 5 years, so she knows  she has the financial expertise to understand the city’s financials. She has been a teacher 13 years. Adriana loves to advocate for her students and families. She worked pro bono to help represent students with disabilities and their families as an advocate for students rights. As a teacher Adriana also advocate for teachers rights being part of the teacher's union and negotiated teams and also was a site representative.

Adriana is married to Max and have 5 children which they're all grown up now.  Adriana enjoys yoga, gardening and love to travel and loves finding new dining places.

She has also been an activist for situation that happen in Murrieta, whereas there were unaccompanied children that recently have entered the United States from Central America.  She form a Facebook group called People without Borders and quickly gathered people to Calexico Rockwood Plaza to gather the items that were going to get donated to these un-protected children.
